Studio Smithson York is the creative practice of London-based jewellery NPD designer and creative consultant Priya Smithson-York.

The practice is built around a career spanning jewellery design, product development, CAD and production. It brings creative and technical experience together with an understanding of the wider jewellery business. Working across family-run businesses, independent brands and online retail has revealed where creative expertise can add value beyond a traditional design role.

Today, Priya works with independent and design-led jewellery houses exactly where that experience is needed. That might mean developing a new product direction, evolving an existing collection, bringing an experienced outside perspective to a challenge, or working more closely within your business.

That can look different from brand to brand. Part of working with Studio Smithson York is deciding together how my involvement is represented. Whether that means working quietly behind the scenes or sharing the collaboration more openly, it should feel right for the brand.
